A new and unique Providence neighborhood food & drink experience within a former industrial corridor currently being transformed into an exciting food hub. The growing neighborhood has become a haven for makers, artists, small businesses, farmers and chefs with a burgeoning food production scene.
We will introduce you to small batch craft food products made in Rhode Island in a dynamic marketplace, as well as brewers and distillers that primarily utilize local and regional farming sources. All of which are part of Rhode Island’s newest and most creative makers.

What To Expect
Rhode Island Food Artisans –With a world-class culinary school, Johnson & Wales University , it’s little wonder Rhode Island has become a destination for talented foodpreneurs. We will introduce you to the best of Rhode Island’s many craft food artisans from cheese mongers, bakers, charcuterie, spices and a spectrum of ethnic foods and so much more as we taste our way through this dynamic marketplace. We will share their stories and where to find them as you travel around the state.
Local Craft Brewers & Distillers –Between tastings you will learn about the industrial history throughout this neighborhood. Our local brewers and distillers have their own connections and stories to tell, from their family predecessors, why, when and how, to where they get their ingredients and what their future vision is. You will learn about their inspirations and what the philosophy is of their businesses and so much more.
Who Should Take This Tour?
If you are a chef, cook or foodie, or you simply want to learn about our local food system this is a great tour with an every changing array of farmers, craft food & drink artisans. This tour offers opportunities to locally sourced ingredients and food purveyors that explore the many flavors of Rhode Island, creating a sustainable community of food & drink preneurs.
What To Expect
When: Saturdays, Mid January through mid April
Time: From 11pm to 2 pm (please arrive 15 min. early)
How Much: $74 per person no alcohol, $89 per person with alcohol
What’s Included: All drink and food tastings, enough for lunch and a guided neighborhood tour.
Sales Deadline: 9:00 AM the day of event.
Who: Ages 12 + and all fitness levels, especially those who enjoy eating, walking and learning.
Capacity: 14 people per tour
What To Wear: Comfortable and weather appropriate clothes and shoes for both inside and outside.
Weather Conditions: Tour takes place rain or shine.
Meeting Point: 498 Kinsley Ave., park in the Farm Fresh RI parking lot and meet outside under the Robin Hollow Flowers sign by 10:45.

“We had a great afternoon noshing the neighborhoods of Newport with our great guide Sara. I really like the variety and quality of food. We added the drink package and the beverages were thoughtfully paired.
We went down streets that I’d never have found on my own and learned interesting stories about the historical figures and modern-day proprietors of each place we visited.
I highly recommend this tour as a wonderful way to nosh Newport and get to know more than the touristy shops!”

“I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this tour! The food was fresh, creative, delicious, locally-sourced, and beautifully presented. The mix of restaurants was pleasantly diverse, including trendy, historic, and up-scale Mexican, among others. Our guide was a perfect mix of friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable.
We took a wonderful walk through some off-the-beaten paths and our guide pointed out and described the backgrounds of some lovely historic homes. We also learned some local lore about famous RI families, pirates and the revolutionary days. Best of all, the tour attracted a terrific group of people.
I hadn’t thought about it intially, but turns out breaking bread together is a bonding experience, so we got to know each other over the three hours, had a lot of laughs and exchanged contact info. I was very pleasantly surprised to make these lasting personal connections which was a dimension of the tour I hadn’t anticipated. Anyone who visits Rhode Island should take this tour! It was well worth the price (felt like a deal, in fact-we were just the right degree of well-fed). The ‘feel good’ feeling has even carried over to today :-)”

Meet outside Robin Hollow Flowers at 498 Kinsley Ave., it is located at Farm Fresh RI which is on Sims Ave. and Kinsley Ave. We suggest parking in the lot accessed from Kinsley Ave.,it is free but can be very busy, arrive early. Look for the green Robin Hollow Flowers sign, we will meet outside there at 10:45.
