It’s the season to drive with your top down, cannonball into the pool, and make sweet summertime memories. Our July Lil Rhody Round-Up will serve as your road map to maximize your summer fun. Bristol Fourth of July Concert Series
Monday, July 1 – Wednesday, July 3 at 6:30 pm
Grab your lawn chairs, blanket, snacks, and drinks for Bristol’s Fourth of July Concert Series. The Concert Series is a warm-up for Bristol’s ultimate Fourth of July event – the parade. If you don’t have any Fourth of July plans, head on over to Bristol early to stake out your prime spot on the parade route to enjoy the oldest Fourth of July Parade in the country, after 234 yrs. they definitely have it down!

newportFILM – Woodstock
Wednesday, July 3 at 8:45 pm
Travel back in time to the ’60s with a screening of Woodstock: Three Days That Defined a Generation during newportFILM’s outdoor film series. The evening begins with live music and includes a Q&A with the film’s director. Diego’s, Binge BBQ, Tricycle Ice Cream, and more local food vendors will be serving up the goods. Woodstock will be screened outdoors at O’Hare Lawn at Salve Regina University, located at 36 Ochre Point Ave in Newport, Rhode Island.
Yoga in the Park Summer 2019 Series
Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in July
Providence Power Yoga is hosting the free Yoga in the Park Summer 2019 Series. Free yoga in the park, what could be better!? Relax in the great outdoors and get in your daily movement. All levels are welcome at their classes. Bring a yoga mat, towel, sunscreen, and water.
Wednesday classes are 6:30 am – 7:30 am at India Point Park in Providence. Head to the dock right in the middle of the park to meet the group.
Friday classes are 6:30 am – 7:30 am at Rose Larisa Park in Riverside.
Saturday classes are 8 am – 9 am at India Point Park in Providence. Head to the dock near the community boating center to meet the group.

Independence Day in Newport
Thursday, July 4 from 9 am – 1:30 pm
Celebrate Independence Day in Newport. It’s a day of history, music, and a whole lot of fun! The morning begins with a ceremony at the grave of William Ellery, the Rhode Island signer of the Declaration of Independence. Old Colony House will be open for tours starting at 10 am. The Newport Community Band will be performing patriotic tunes, jazz, and show tunes. Catch a reading of the Declaration of Independence and check out the Newport Artillery Company 21-gun salute using original canons cast by Paul Revere. Get the full event lineup here.

Tiverton 4 Corners Antique Show
Thursday, July 4 from 9 am – 5 pm
Kick off your Fourth of July festivities with some antiquing! This iconic antique show is staged at the historic Tiverton Four Corners. Dealers from across New England gather to share and show off their collections. There are tons of treasures to be found at Tiverton Four Corners Antiques Show!
Admission is $7. The Antiques Show is located at The Meeting House at Tiverton Four Corners, 3850 Main Road in Tiverton, Rhode Island.
2019 Summer Block Party
Friday, July 5 from 8 pm – 1 am
Fourth of July weekend is party central in Rhode Island. Echo Chambers and Dusk are hosting this year’s Summer Block Party. Enjoy food, drinks and live music. Tickets are $6 and are available at the door.

2019 12mR World Championship
Monday, July 8 – Saturday, July 13
The 2019 12 Metre World Championship is coming to Newport! It is the largest gathering of 12 Metre yachts in the United States, featuring more than 24 boats from seven countries. Elite sailors from Australia, Denmark, Canada, Finland, Italy, Norway, and the United States will comprise the international teams. Watch the teams compete and enjoy summer in Newport!

Rosé with the Roses
Wednesday, July 10 from 5 pm – 7 pm
Enjoy Rosé with the Roses at Rough Point in Newport. Rough Point’s roses burst into full bloom for just a few days every July. Savor the summer flowers with a glass of rosé in hand. The museum’s exhibits and grounds will be open for exploring.
Tickets for Rosé with the Roses are $25 and include admission to the museum and one drink ticket. Tickets are available here. Additional wine will be available for purchase. The event is weather dependent, so keep your fingers crossed for a beautiful day!
Music at Sunset – Summer Concert Series
Wednesday, July 10 – Wednesday, August 28 from 6 pm – 8 pm
Blithewold in Bristol is hosting a sunset summer concert series every Wednesday evening this summer. Food trucks will be on site for dinner or you can pack your own picnic dinner. Bring a blanket or chairs to sit back and enjoy the summer vibes.

Zoo Night (ages 21+)
Thursday, July 11
Explore the zoo without all the chaos! Zoo Night at Roger Williams Park Zoo is adults-only. Get some food and a drink from one of the zoo’s bars, dance to some music, play outdoor games in Hasbro’s “Our Big Backyard”, and cool down in the Drip Drop Water Garden. Get up close to some of the zoo’s animals, ride a camel, and hop on the Soaring Eagle Zip Ride.
Tickets for Zoo Night are $25 in advance and can be purchased here. Tickets include one complimentary beer, wine or soft drink.
Newport Shimoda Sister City Celebration
Thursday, July 11 – Sunday, July 14
The Newport Shimoda Sister City Celebration is a wreath-laying ceremony in honor of Newport’s native son, Commodore Matthew C. Perry and his historic journey to Japan. The event also commemorates the signing of the Treaty of Kanagawa, which opened trade between Japan and the United States. The Newport Shimoda Sister City Celebration takes place in Touro Park, which is located at 5 Touro Park St W in Newport, Rhode Island.
Burnside Music Series + Beer Garden
Every Thursday in July and August from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Head to Burnside Park every Thursday in July and August for an early kick-off to your weekend. The beer garden opens at 4:30 pm and live music starts around 5:30 pm. 57th Wickford Art Festival
Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 at 10 am
The Wickford Art Festival is a juried, fine art festival where you will meet the best of the best artists. Stroll the seaside village and take in the sights and art. Meet the artists behind the fine art. Fine art media include oil, acrylic, pastel, mixed media, glass, drawing, etching, sculpture, photography, modern ink and fiber. The whole town of Wickford is taken over for the weekend. Find a new piece or find your inspiration!

Warren Summer Concert Series & Food Truck Nights
Sunday, July 14 and Sunday, July 28 at 5 pm
The food trucks are coming to Warren! Head to Burr’s Hill Park to enjoy live music and local food trucks. Bring a blanket and chairs to sit and enjoy the musical entertainment, which is different every week. Ten or more food trucks will be at each event. Return to a favorite food truck or try something new.

The Myth & Mystique of Doris Duke in Newport

Doris Duke is a Newport legend. Most lifelong Newporters have a memory or two of their encounters or time with Doris. The Myth & Mystique of Doris Duke in Newport celebrates Doris and her time in Newport. Special guests, including former staff and friends, will recount their favorite stories and memories of Doris Duke.

37th Annual Warren Quahog Festival

Fifth Annual Rhode Island Herb Festival

Expand your herbal knowledge or dive in headfirst. The Fifth Annual Rhode Island Herb Festival is hosted and run by Farmacy Herbs in Providence. The Festival is a free, all-day learning experience. Local teachers and speakers will be in attendance to guide you and answer your herb-related questions. Craft Brew Races Newport 2019
Saturday, July 20 from 12 pm – 4 pm
The Craft Brew Races are a series of timed 5K’s open to beer lovers of all speeds and abilities. The post-race celebration is three-hours worth of beer, live music, and food trucks.
The day is split up into two parts: the 5K and the festival. Costumes are encouraged for everyone running or walking the 5K route! However, you don’t need to participate in the 5K to enjoy the post-5K festivities.

WaterFire Full Lighting

WaterFire season is in full swing! There is one full lighting this month and more to come. The current schedule is available here.
If you have yet to experience, WaterFire, put it at the top of your summer bucket list, come in the afternoon for a food tour, take a late afternoon boat tour then sit and soak in the unique experience. Between the music and the magical atmosphere, it’s something you’ll never forget.

FringePVD
Monday, July 22 – Saturday, July 27
FringePVD is a yearly artists festival. Musicians, actors, dancers, and artists perform their own shows. The idea is to present fun, fearless and affordable theater to the community. FringePVD is expecting over 300 individual shows for this year’s festival. Go with an open mind and be ready to have lots of fun! Tickets for all performances are available at the door.
